For one morsel of food [Esau] sold his birthright. — Hebrews 12:16

Esau was "profane" because, despite being a pleasant guy who loved the outdoors and hunting and fishing, he sold his spiritual birthright "for one morsel of food" (Heb. 12:16). Esau didn't know he had sacrificed the long-term on the altar of the short-term until it was too late to repair his miserable bargain.

We should exercise caution when making "bargains" in life. Our society values what is valuable highly while devaluing that which has intrinsic value.

Ask the Lord to guide you in deciding what should be kept and what should be thrown away.

Living in a low plane costs us a lot of money. The small decisions we have to make will determine the direction our lives go; we can either select the way of the light or stray into the deepest black.
