He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust. — Psalm 91:2

However, one fear dominates them all—the terror of our inevitable meeting with death and God's wrath (Heb. 2:14–15; 9:27). Gaining assurance that we are under God's protective care is the sole way to combat this concern and ultimately all others.

When we place our faith in Jesus as our Savior, that assurance starts to increase. He is the one who eliminated the agony of death (1 Corinthians 15:55–57). When we accept Him as our Savior, our faith develops as we discover more about the knowledge, love, and power of God, and our worries lessen as we decide to center our attention on Him.

Declare today, "I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust'" with the psalmist. (Ps. 91:2).
