With one hand they worked at construction, and with the other held a weapon. — Nehemiah 4:17

 They remind me of the construction workers in Nehemiah's day who carried their weapons—swords or spears in one hand and their tools in the other. They were prepared for war even as they were working.

We must serve as God's watchmen. We ought to be equipped for action. It could be an opportunity to witness or support a fellow believer who is struggling with strong temptation. The cause of Christ may be under attack in the workplace. Having a ready?

We shouldn't need to restart our prayer lives or deal with unfinished business with God. No looking through old Bibles. There is nothing to ask for or forgive. No confession of sin at the last minute.

Are you one of God's minutemen in case He calls?

Our availability is our greatest asset as we serve God. Make a battle cry! Look, the enemy is close by;

Set the Lord's standards extremely high;

Put on your shield, be strong, and rest your cause on His holy Word.
