It can be challenging to give up our positions after we've done them successfully for a long time in favor of someone more capable or younger. Elijah was in a similar circumstance. His time in ministry was running out. However, his disposition demonstrated his faith in God. Elisha, his successor, heard him say, "Ask! Before I'm taken away from you, what can I do for you? (2 Ki. 2:9).
Perhaps it's time for you to let go of a position you've had for a while. It could occur at work or even in a church ministry. Pray for the ability to accept God's plan for your life. and then politely withdraw.
If we don't care who receives the credit, there is no end to the good we can do. When God asks you to stop doing something you truly loved doing, accept His pick of someone else and allow Him to offer you new task.
