Do you prefer the mornings? Not all of us are. Perhaps getting out of bed in the morning is a daily struggle for you. But how do you feel when you're fully awake? Do you remain grateful despite whatever difficulties or afflictions you may be experiencing? Do you anticipate and have confidence in the hours that lie ahead?
Admittedly, life may be a struggle filled with drudgery and difficulties for even the most devoted of God's people. There may be challenging circumstances and significant loads. However, the Lord desires that we bring our worries to Him. When the psalmist said, "To You I will pray," he was on the right track.
O Lord, in the morning You shall hear my voice; in the morning I will call to You, and I will gaze up" (Ps. 5:2-3).
We will be able to join the psalmist in saying, "This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it" (118:24) if we begin each day with prayer.
Every day is a gift that should be received with prayer. Strength comes to me here day by day and with every moment that passes; trusting in my Father's thoughtful bestowal, I have no reason to worry or be afraid.
