While on vacation, nightfall is quickly approaching. You see a nice hotel and pull up. You receive a card to fill out from the clerk once she informs you that a room is available. You quickly jot down your name, address, contact information, and licence number. You might also disclose the number on your credit card, depending on how you pay. Without second thought, you have divulged a lot of important details.
It's so simple for us to give people all kinds of important information, yet it's frequently challenging for us to tell them that we believe in Jesus Christ, a pastor remarked while discussing this in a sermon.
But what Jesus has done for us is the most important thing about us that can possibly be expressed. Our purpose is to spread the good news of our Saviour to everyone.
In John 9, the blind man who had been healed of his condition stated, "Though I was blind, now I see" (v. 25). The one who had accomplished it for him was Jesus. The Light of the world has similarly extinguished our spiritual darkness by means of faith. Our Saviour, he is. We can see now.
We divulge a lot of important details about ourselves. Let's not be reluctant to reveal to others the most crucial aspect of who we are: that we are followers of Jesus Christ!
