Without Me you can do nothing. — John 15:5

Almost all women enjoy receiving bouquets of fresh flowers. She smells and admires them before immediately putting them in water. They may be fresh and lovely when she receives them, but their time is limited. They will soon wilt and perish since their source of life has been cut off. She will eventually have to discard them.

If a branch had the ability to communicate, it would not be sorry that it must rely on the vine to produce fruit.  Jesus also understood that we were created to depend entirely on Him as our source of life. Actually, this kind of reliance is the sole safeguard against becoming a "cut-flower Christian."

Accept His statement that "without Me you can do nothing."

Fruitfulness is a result of a close relationship with Christ. Lord, help me to be shattered, cleansed, filled, and kept adrift in You so that our relationship may be unbroken and Thy name may be honoured in me.
