I can respect the efforts of this couple because I am a homeowner who is aware of how difficult it is to keep everything in order. But they also stand for something else to me. God commands us to "be holy, for I am holy" (1 Peter 1:16) in the Bible. That implies that we should aim for perfection. We will never be perfect, just like those homeowners. However, we must continue to work at it—removing poor behaviors here and difficult thoughts there. Although it requires ongoing work, we must keep up our pursuit of excellence with the guidance of the Spirit.
Every one of God's children need to progressively resemble the Son of God. More purity gives me more willpower to overcome, more escape from stains of the ground, and more homesickness.
I would be more useful to the kingdom, more blessed and holy, and more of a Savior like Thee.
