Some churches have a striking similarity to that cold environment. Error has no chance of surviving since the Bible is accurately quoted and the truth of God is preached. However, there is no commensurate love or obedience, and the spiritual climate is utterly freezing. The underprivileged are ignored (James 2:2-6). Cold arguments are used by those who lack faith (Romans 14:1). Because they pose a challenge to cozy cliques, brothers in Christ are abandoned (3 John 5–10). Many people depart feeling unloved and uncared for.
The church was established by the atoning love of Christ and is intended to be a friendly and welcoming community! Instead of only trying to "keep out the germs," we must allow the Lord to create an environment where our brothers and sisters can open their hearts to His soul-healing love.
In a chilly world, the church should always be a warm haven. How sad it is when people allow little things to spoil their lovely communion in God's house, which ought to be a place of adoration and intense prayer!
