There is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus. — 1 Timothy 2:5

We can be thankful for the following realities because we understand the truth, strength, and joy of the gospel of Jesus Christ: (1) There is no need for any additional sacrifice because Jesus sacrificed Himself as the ideal, sufficient sacrifice for our sin (Heb. 10:10). (2) Jesus, who serves as our mediator (1 Timothy 2:5), ensures that we have direct access to God, therefore there is no need for any other intermediary between God and us. (3) Since Jesus is "the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6), there is no need for us to struggle on our own to reach God.

Christ's atonement, not our attainment, is what brings about salvation. Christ's sacrifice on the cross is all that is required to atone for our sins; He is the way, the truth, and the life.
