Though the fig tree may not blossom, . . . yet I will rejoice in the Lord. — Habakkuk 3:17-18

The strength of our convictions is revealed by how we respond in court. This is not to argue that a sincere Christian will not cry when a loved one passes away. We should not "sorrow as others who have no hope" (1 Thess. 4:13) since we know that all believers who pass away enter Christ's presence. We can pray, "Thank You, Lord," because we know He will act in the best interest of everybody. Well put by the prophet, "Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines;... yet I will rejoice in the Lord" (Hab. 3:17–18).

For those who have faith in Christ, the best is yet to come. Those who experience life's pain frequently emit the greatest scent because they truly believe in God's immense love and choose to stay in it.
