Franklin's epitaph is a beautiful reaffirmation of Paul's claim in Philippians 3:20–21 that the risen Lord will change our mortal bodies such that they resemble His magnificent body.
What solace this fact provides when someone we care about passes away in the Lord! What a solace it is for us as we approach death minute by moment! However, this solace is only ours if we accept the good news of Christ's victorious death on the cross and the empty tomb that followed it.
What Calvary secures is guaranteed by the resurrection. We now soar in the direction that Christ has lead us, following our exalted Head. Made to be like Him, we rise, taking to ourselves the cross, the grave, and the skies.
