Do not forget to do good and to share. — Hebrews 13:16

While it is true that the fundamental duty of the Christian is to win souls to Christ, we occasionally use this as a justification to shirk our duty to "do good and to share" (Heb. 13:16). By remembering to "do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith" (Galatians 6:10), we can maintain our spiritual equilibrium. How much more should we, who have personally experienced God's love, strive to lessen the suffering and ease the burdens of those who are less fortunate, if unbelievers who don't even know the Lord are aware of other people's needs.

May it never be said of you, if God gives you a burden for someone in need, that "somebody forgot!"

Our ability to love others increases as Christ's love expands within us. Have compassion for individuals who are bending beneath their load of caring if you have ever carried a huge load that pushed you to despair.
