Most of us are familiar with the sensation of inadequacy when faced with a large task we are about to take on, though few of us will ever be put into a position of leadership with obligations of that magnitude. It could involve starting a new job, receiving a promotion at work, selecting a spouse, having children, or accepting a new role in church or Sunday school.
The words of the Lord to Joshua in Joshua 1:9 might give us hope when we are faced with a fresh difficulty. We can acknowledge that He has given us this chance and trust that He will provide us with all we need to take advantage of it effectively. He will take care of the rest if we study and obey His Word, rely on Him in prayer, and work hard. He will provide the tools we need.
When God calls us to a work, He also gives us the power to finish it. The only thing the Lord requires of you is to serve Him with love; He will give you assistance and strength for the task He assigns you.
