Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ. — 1 Corinthians 11:1

 Parents, professors, athletes, political figures, fictional characters from books and historical figures are just a few of the people who serve as our role models and inspire us as we grow up. 

We have a lot of examples in the Bible as well. One difficult discipleship example is the apostle Paul. He even viewed himself as a role model for all Christians to follow. He exhorted, "Imitate me," "just as I also imitate Christ" (1 Corinthians 11:1). He was aware that he could only set a virtuous example by devoutly following his Lord.

Because they obeyed him and the Lord, Paul praised the Thessalonians (1 Th. 1:6). They served as role models for all the Christians in Macedonia and Achaia, and their devotion to God earned them respect (vv. 7-8). 

We become role models who are copied as we imitate Paul, who was imitating the Savior in turn. What kind of spiritual influence do we have? Positive or negative? Not forgetting, it cannot be unbiased. Nobody can genuinely claim that they are not a role model.
